A Hybrid Multi-core Architecture for Real-time Video Tracking
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we present an implementation of real-time video tracking on a novel reconfigurable multi-core architecture capable of reacting to changing workload while minimizing the number of active cores. The system is comprised of multiple processor cores executing sequential software threads, and hardware cores implemented in an FPGA executing dynamically reconfigurable hardware threads. SW and HW threads interact using a unified multithreaded programming model, which allows on-the-fly reconfiguration to shift workload between hardware and software components. Our self-adaptation technique effectively re-partitions threads across hardware and software cores to keep the performance of a video object tracking application within a predefined budget while minimizing the number of used processing elements and, thus, saving power consumption.

Neural Network Performance Analysis for Real Time Hand Gesture Tracking Based on Hu Moment and Hybrid Features
This paper presents a comparison study between the multilayer perceptron (MLP) and radial basis function (RBF) neural networks with supervised learning and back propagation algorithm to track hand gestures. Both networks have two output classes which are hand and face. Skin is detected by a regional based algorithm in the image, and then networks are applied on video sequences frame by frame in...
متن کاملAn embedded audio-visual tracking and speech purification system on a dual-core processor platform
Design of an embedded audio–visual tracking and speech purification system is described in this paper. The system is able to perform human face tracking, voice activity detection, sound source direction estimation, and speech enhancement in real-time. Estimating the sound source directions helps to initialize the human face tracking module when the target changes the direction. The implementati...

Hybrid Wireless Network-on-Chip (WNoC) architecture is emerged as a scalable communication structure to mitigate the deficits of traditional NOC architecture for the future Multi-core systems. The hybrid WNoC architecture provides energy efficient, high data rate and flexible communications for NoC architectures. In these architectures, each wireless router is shared by a set of processing core...
متن کاملA novel architecture for parallel multi-view HEVC decoder on mobile device
The multi-view HEVC (MV-HEVC) extension was finalized in July of 2014 by the Moving Picture Experts Group and the Video Coding Experts Group. Recently, multi-view videos based on stereo representations are becoming widely popular. Also, a variety of multimedia contents are now available for mobile devices. A real-time multi-view video decoder is therefore needed. In mobile devices, a real-time ...
